Our sponsor organisation Women in Banking and Finance (WiBF), has been awarded the Toastmaster Corporate Recognition Award for its continual support of the Toastmasters program! This is a great recognition of our Club’s achievements!
On behalf of WiBF, our Club and our sister club in Canary Wharf, Nadine Petermann had the pleasure to formally accept the award from Teresa Dukes, International Director of Toastmasters International, at the Toastmasters District 91 Conference on 7 November in Swindon.
To many WiBF members, our Club (and our sister club) provides the amazing opportunity to have a go at something that feels out of reach in a professional environment. We provide a safe environment to practise in, supporting and encouraging our members, as well as providing detailed feedback and great networking opportunity. We have been the stepping stone to so much more for many WiBF members. Our meetings are a great way to meet other WiBF members in a relaxed, fun and encouraging environment, and the camaraderie is brilliant!
Our Club has been running for 10 consecutive years and is blossoming! Club President Nadine Petermann believes that “while it is a great honour to be President of this Club when awarded this recognition, I believe the credit needs to go to everyone who started our Club, helped to establish it, and brought it to the amazing level it was already before I took over the Presidency in July 2015!”
The Corporate Recognition Award from Toastmasters International is an award to organisations that have displayed significant support for the Toastmasters program. Women in Banking and Finance (WiBF), as part of their personal excellence program, partially sponsors two Toastmaster clubs in London, the WiBF Speakers CW Club (Canary Wharf) and our WiBF Speakers-City Club (City of London). Due to the great achievements of both Toastmaster Clubs, and due to WiBF (i) actively encouraging its members to join one of the Toastmaster clubs and (ii) having the potential to sponsor further Toastmaster clubs, WiBF has been nominated for this special award.
Many great things are in store for both clubs, and our futures are certainly bright!
